The maintenance of a solar energy system in Tasmania must be performed by a licensed electrician. Do not attempt to perform it yourself - engage the services of an electrician who specialises in solar and has the skills required to perform the work correctly and safely.
Consumer, Building and Occupational services in Tasmania recommend a solar energy system should be inspected annually at a minimum. More regular maintenance and cleaning may be required under certain site conditions. For example, systems close to the ocean require more frequent maintenance due to higher wind and salt deposits which can cause corrosion. More regular cleaning can also be required in areas with dust or vegetation to reduce deterioration or even damage in the panels.
